I always thought about visiting my dads childhood house. The place where he spent the first 18 years of his 63 year long life. In a little Town called Rockland, deep in the northern parts of New York. My dad grew up in a small community, they lived in ghettos and everyone knew everyone. His town was unique because he lived in the urban area. It was a small City surrounded by fields and farms. The thing that separates my dad from everyone else is that he was a 3x State Champion Wrestler at 170 lbs. Even with the talent and skill he had he wasn't able to attend college. He was a State champion the first 3 years of high school but the week before states his senior year he got involved in some trouble. Long story short he was accused of being involved in a shooting but no one ever found the gun so the charges against him were dropped. But since he made headline news and everything, the NCAA didn't want him in any division schools. So after his wrestling career being ruined, he was forced to go to the Marines because his grades weren't sufficient enough for college. Anyways the reason I'm taking this 16 hour long road trip from Durham, NC is to see what his hometown is like since he never took the family back. As I arrive to his old address I see what appers to be a skeleton of what was once a house. Tall grass, boarded windows, broken glass and other such things that are evidence of abandonment. I walked up the rotten and creaking front steps and looked at the door frame, cause nothing else was there. I proceeded into the house with caution, announcing my arrival into every room and walking slowly. After making sure there was no one else there I started to dig through the rummage. I discovered old pictures, ripped clothes, cracked glass, and torn books. From there I went back upstairs to what used to be my dads room. Half a bed frame, a dresser with half of the drawers missing, a broken mirror and a closet full of miscellaneous items. I dusted off a section of the floor and sat down. I looked around the room and looked at all the things and tried to envision what it was like to live here. What it was like to be my dad and how many friends he probably had over, how many girls he probably snuck in and how many times my grandmother locked him in here for talking back. After a while I stood back up and walked over to the closet. I started going through the stuff. After pulling out a couple of items i discovered a metal pole that was sticking out through the wall. I started to pull on it, it's budged a little. "lord please don't let this house collapse if I pull this out" I said to myself. I pulled out the pole and I heard a thumping sound in the wall, as if it was holding something and it fell. I held out my flash light into the hole and saw something shimmer back..something metal. I reached my hand in to get it but It was too far. So I did what I had to and I made the hole bigger, Then I reached my hand in there and by my fingertips I pulled out the object. I couldn't believe my eyes.. It was a gun! But was it THE gun? After analyzing it I realized that the bullets were the same caliber that were used in the shooting that occurred my dads senior year! Was it true?! Did he really shoot or help shoot somebody? I guess we'll never know, because now I have met my word requirement:)

Finding someone in your room
"Gosh I can't wait to get home so I can just sleep" I thought to myself walking home from school. Out of all the 132 days I've been a senior, I've only been this tired once. And that's today. I thought this year would be easy and restful, now it's turned into a busy and stressful one. Finally I arrive to my side door. Put the key in the lock and open the door. I drop my book bag on the kitchen table, kick my shoes off at the bottom of the stairs and run to my bedroom. As I approach my door I hear a knocking sound. Slowly, I put my head up to the door to listen, I hear footsteps. I bust open my door and find a random guy rummaging through my dresser drawers! "Who the fuck are you?!" I scream as I approach him, "Woah woah woah! Calm down son, I'm with the FBI!" He says at the last second as I raise my fist. He shows his proper identification. "Why the hell are you in my room going through my stuff?" I ask. "Look calm down, let's go downstairs so we can talk" he says. We go downstairs and as soon as my foot touches the hard wood floor I turn around "Why are you here?""Well kid, if you must know, I'm investigating a top profile fugitive. His last known address was this one. Do you know a 'Carl Smith' by chance?" It disbelief I said "Yea, that's my pops.. What did he do? I haven't spoken to him in like 2 years since he ran off with his other family" I said, disgustingly. "Well according to the evidence we have built up, he's responsible for over $100 million dollars in credit card fraud, along with direct association to 3 murders." He states. "No way man, my pops may be a dead beat dad and a cheating husband but he ain't no killer." "well son, you can tell that to the jury at his court date when we catch him, cause with all the evidence we have he may not be able to run out of this one" he said. I sat there confused, angry and sad. Is that why he hasn't called? Cause if he does he'll get caught? He left on my 16th birthday.. Never said a word to me after. "well officer sir, good luck finding him cause I haven't been able to. And if you do, tell him I said thanks for the birthday gift. You can let yourself out." I said. "Thanks...""Chris..Chris Smith" I told him. "well thanks Chris, sorry about the whole snooping around. Part of my job" he said, then left. I went up stairs to my room and laid on my bed. Looked at the ceiling and thought about all the money my dad must have. The 3 people's lives he cut short and how he must really love his new family. "oh well" I said to myself. "maybe one day I'll wake up and it'll all just be a dream.."

Death Date Tattoo
My name is Zac Jones.
September 16th, 2014 was my
determined date of death. The current date is September 17th, 2014 and i'm
still alive. There has to be a reason cause no one else has survived there
death date. I mean im only 35 and im healthy, never been hospitalized, never smoked,
and only drank on special occasions, plus i workout almost everyday. Its
terrible that people are tattooed with there death date when there born. Sure
some people say " Well atleast you were prepared and knew it was
happening" but how can you actually prepare for that? How can you prepare
for your own death and for the close loved ones around you? You dread every
single day like i have. But now that that day has come and passed, I don't know
how to feel. Im not sure on how my family is feeling. Now that i have survived
im not sure on what to do next. I dont know what to expect or anything but im
really scared. I called my mom and dad. I told them the good and scary news.
They wanted me to come over immediately and to not stop anywhere. So on the way
to my parents house I kept thinking of the best case scenario and the worst
case scenario. Best case is that I live till my natural death of old age. Worst
case, i drop dead at any second. When I get there i walk in and my parents are
crying tears of joy and confusion. I tell my parents that i plan on going to
the hospital in the morning to figure out whats wrong with me. My mom starts
screaming at me not to. When i ask her why she tells me that the PC will get
me. "PC?" I ask. "Yes Zacary, the PC, Population Control. Do you
not know about the PC?" my mother asks. "No, i don't, Well i
didnt..." I stated. " Yes Zac, and they gave you an artificial heart
when you were born, like everyone else, and the date on your arm is when it
gets disconnected." a moment of silence passes and we all just sit there
thinking. After a while i came to the conclusion that ill just stay at my
parents house till its time. After a couple of weeks i start to feel chest
pains. They progressively get worse and worse every single day. After a week I
am bed ridden. I lose my voice and almost all of my motor skills. Soon my sight
goes as well. On October 23rd, 2014 Zacary Jones passes away in his parents
upstairs bedroom at 11:14 PM. He is the only known person to ever live past his
expiration date,

View From a Tree
Grass sways and bushes twitch and people walk and dogs run, sometimes they pee on my feet. I see airplanes soar and Frisbees fly. Bird make there home on me, squirrels use me as a jungle gym and kids swing from my limbs. I see clouds floating in space, I see cars rush past each other and I see other plants blossom. I have seen the worst storms and the sunniest days. I've felt the strongest winds and the coldest snowflakes. Ive seen picnics happen right under the shade I provide. I've seen soccer games happen in the field I live in and little league championships across the street. Ive seen pick up games and after school practices. Ive seen people fall asleep on benches because they don't have a home. I see people throw out blankets, plop down and power up there laptops to study. Ive seen people argue and scream and others Laugh and smile. Ive seen almost every human emotion while I feel none. I see my leaves turn from bright green to sun yellow till they fall off. But its okay cause they come back. I see kids run and play tag, I see them fall and scrape there thin skin. I see mothers rush to there hurt child and comfort them till the pain goes away. I see the grass get cut by the maintenance crew and sometimes they even trim me up. Ive seen small birds attempt to fly. ATTEMPT, not fly. But sooner or later they get the hang out of it and leave there nest to make there own. Ive seen festivals and parades go up and down this field every year. Ive had local bands play concerts and I get front row seats every single time. I see almost anything and everything without people even knowing it.
Storm Story
The wind was blowing calmly to the north, the tallgrass was bouncing at the pace of the gusts. The sky was baby blue, few clouds but mostly sunny. The air was thin and slightly moist. As the day went on more clouds starting moving in from the west. The early clouds were cotton white but these clouds, these clouds were darker, more mysterious and intimidating. These clouds brought a dark feeling, a sick and demonic feeling that came over the town. The clouds swirled slowly in the sky. They got darker, like midnight dark. They bullied the white ones out of the sky till they were out of sight. Before noon the whole sky began to twist as if god was stirring up some mashed potatos. Right around 12:30 a funnel cloud started to appear and it got lower and lower. Before you knew it a tornado started to form and you could hear a loud roaring sound. Sounded like a freight train was storming through the middle of town. All I could see were trees bending sideways as if they were gymnast and debris flying everywhere. I ran inside of my uncles house and looked for him but I couldn't find him. After looking for a couple minutes I knew I needed to reach a safe haven so I ran to the underground tornado shelter like my uncle had me rehearse many a times. After getting in the shelter the roar of the tornado grew louder and louder, my ear drums popped. I got in the school taught tornado position in the corner. I hear riping and destructive sounds upstairs, felt the power of the wind go down my back and the sound of glass shattering. After about 30 seconds I didn't hear it no more. I looked up and I saw nothing but sunlight. No ceiling, no wood, no tv, no couch, no bed, no nothing..Just sunlight. I climbed out of the rummage, and saw my uncle lying on the ground near what used to be his shed. Next to him was the lifeless body of my cousin Benjamin. I could tell he wasn't alive no more because of the metal pipe sticking out of his chest. I fell to my knees.

What ive always wanted to say is.. (Exam)
Tim just wanted to be noticed. Thats all he wanted. But not noticed by just anybody, he wanted to be noticed by the girl of his dreams, Sarah. See Sarah was the most popular girl in there school and Tim was, well Tim was a nobody really. He was a band geek and a nerd. Tim was a sophomore and Sarah was a senior. They were in two different grades and were two different kinds of people. Sarah was the cheer leading captain and had a bunch of friends. Tim had one friend and it was the janitor. Any ways it was a week before homecoming, the biggest gamer of the year. Tim finally built up the courage to talk to sarah.Even if they could only be friends, Tim was fine with that as long as he was noticed. But for some reason everytime he would try and speak to her he would either freeze up or walk away. But today was the day and time wasnt going to let anything stop him from talking to her. He had it all planned out, After 1st period he had Science, after science he has lunch, and everyday they pass each other on the way to 3rd period after lunch. He was gonna make his move then. When the lunch bell rang he went to the caferteria and just sat down. He didnt even have the stomach to eat because he was too nervous. Time seemed to go by so fast when usually it goes by slow. Tim was scared if she would blow him off. The end of lunch bell rings and he starts to sweat. He had never been so nervous in his whole 14 year old life. A he left the cafeteria and turned the corner to his hall he saw her, looking more beautiful then ever. As he progressed down the hall he grew more nervous, finally he walked right up to her. He said " Hi Sarah, you dont know me but ive seen you around and ive alwasy wanted to say is... Hi, Im Tim!" Then before she could breath he ran off like the wind. About a day later she went around talking to various people, Learning about who Tim is and what he's like. After doing her "Homework" she found his house. She talked to him and he let her know how she felt. They developed a very good friendship and Tim was very jolly about what he had earned.

Durham in 100 Years
The year is 2114 and Alex is just now waking up from a 100
year coma. Back in 2014 he was in a bad car accident that left him in a coma. In
2022 scientist came out with a medical breakthrough that preserves the bodies
and minds if patients that are in comas. Since Alex was a young man, 23 at the
time, he was a great candidate. He was placed in a “Coma Pod”. The coma pods
keep everything at the same age that they were placed in. Only thing is that
out of 893 case studies, Alex was the only one to survive. Scientist found this
very odd because all pods were made the same on an assembly line. So Alex
finally awakes, signals are sent from the pod to the nurses station. Nurses,
Doctors, Hospital officials, and police swarm into the room to oversee his
departure of the pod. When he is taken out, he is confused and dazed. After
explaining his situation he quickly breaks down, now realizing that anything
and everyone from his past is gone. Every friend, foe, or family member. All
gone. After being brought up to date on new laws, disasters, and major events
he is given a physical and released to the public. He is given a key card with
his name and picture on it. He asks what its for, the receptionist answers “Well
sir that’s your Life Card.” “ Well what
does it do?” He curiously asks. “Its everything. It is what ou know as a debit
card, social security card, License, house key, car key, basically anything
that you need is accessible through that card.” Alex stood there in amazement.
On his way to his car he spotted to what looked to be a robot. “A robot?!” Alex
thought to hisself. He went to the parking spot he was assigned, but there was
no car. There was what looked to be a hovercraft. “What the hell..?” Alex
hopped in and turned it on. He had only seen these in movies or video games as
a kid. But then again that was 100 years ago. On his way to his new house he
passed probably over 100 robots on the street, and thousands of hovercraft, jets,
and even electric jetpacks. He went downtown first to check on the “American
Tobacco District” but all that was left was a rundown water tower with the
faded words “Lucky Strike” on it. “Wow.. Durham’s original water tower. The
thing that started this whole city..well metropolis” he said to himself. When
he arrived home he just sat on his bed, thought about his family, friends and
wife. His child which was gone too. Sobbing he stared out the window. “What to
do now?” He asks himself.
